Took a day leave and off I went to the Zoo with SzeHui, ShiMin and Joyce.
Let me take you through the journey of how the day went.

SzeHui brought along her Doraemon's mosquito repellent patch, 1 for her and 1 for me to keep Mandai's mosquitoes at bay.

Took a bus from CCK to the Zoo.

Zoohoo~
Reached! We were ready to conquer the zoo!

Thanks to ShiMin we got into the Zoo for free! Woot~

Ben & Jerry's signature cow represents our Chinese Zodiac sign (ox).

Entering the zoo, the first

With an abandon mini lorry as the background that a mosquitoes infested vehicle.

Spot the monkey climbing the trees.

Random shot, SzeHui 真有那明星的风范!

Off we went to visit the Otters! Yumyum!

Aren't they cute?!

It's almost as tall as ShiMin! Ha...

Trying to figure our way.

Some information on the cute little otters.

We could hardly spot them on the ground because they have all gone swimming to cool themselves off at such a scorching weather.

ShiMin and I trying to capture the swimming otters.
ShiMin can even pose while snapping photos, not like me. T_T

Bei Haw!
I kept bugging them that I need to see the white tigers in the zoo!

ShiMin navigating the way, bring us to....

The flamingos.

Past by a restaurant own by this dude.
Ok, not exactly this dude, but his species.

He's famous enough to have a restaurant here.
Where else can you find it except Singapore Zoo?! Ha...

All the random walking.

Cookie Monster!

They're made into crocs!
It cost about 30 bucks per pair and they're in kids size mind you.
Super pricey.

T for Tembusu.

Sawadeka~

Neng Song Sam, Kimchi~

We made it just in time for the 12.30pm rainforest fight back.

Waiting for the show to begin.

They invited this ang moh tourist to get half naked in front of everybody. Ha!

Orangutan climbing to the centre stage.

Opening a big coconut.

Mr. Parrot flew in too.

Next up, they had the cute raccoons

Some birds.

So the show ended and we continued our journey.

We saw elephants being led by their trainers.

Can't help but attempted to snap photos with them as they walked by.

My turn to lead the way.

Ok, I somehow led us to this resting area.
Replenish on the H2O before moving on.

Eh, got a mini zebra-crossing!

The Baboons!
Love them for thir red bottoms. Ha!

The girls just as fascinated as me.

More pictures of them.
Distracted ourselves from the baboons snapping silly photos.

Helped the girls snap photos with baboons. Eh, actually cannot see any in the background. Ooops.
I wanted to take photos with baboons too but they ignored me.

In the end I took this myself lor.
Baboon and me. =p

Seeing how pathetic I was, they offered to help me snap this. With the real ones.

Finally, I saw the Beh Haws
I absolutely love how they look.

So how far can our girls jump?
Just for fun, we actually had videos of us trying to compare the distance we jumped to the distance a full grown tiger can jump.

In a shabby hut, we found SzeHui meditating.

Very serious meditator she is.

She is just so cooperative. Ha!

The Tapir.
Here's a little quiz for you.

Lunch time at KFC.
Yum yum!

ShiMin's handmade birthday card to SzeHui.
It is so nicely made!
The journey continues after lunch...

There was a peacock right in front of me, walking like as though it own the road.
Very 潇洒.

Next up, we went for the elephant show where the elephants showcased their skills.
Awesome performance from the elephants!

With the elephant statues.

With the er... I am not too sure what bird is this called. =X

Penguins!

Now everbody, this is known as the Mandai lake.
M for Mandai lake.
I love how it look so serenity.

Just had to take shots with such awesome background!

SzeHui and the giant tortoise.

Guess what? I found my 金龟! :D

Next up, we went to see the snakes.
They are ShiMin's favourite.

Shimin with the cobra, see how happy she is?

180 degree different expression in mine.

The long long journey made me went bonkers!

Lions.

It started raining not long after.

Check out who's that under the umbrella?
Hahaha...

Erm SzeHui, you are not that light to be blown away by the wind.
Yes, she was totally pretending to be blown away! See how she even tiptoed.

With Ah Meng.

ShiMin had her head inside the crocodile's mouth.

Totally horrified by the real one.

Love the carousel at the background.
I have this unexplainable love for carousels.

The spinning one.

Very busy woman.

A very typical classic look of SzeHui. Hahaha...
Bitten by a erm... Dinosaur.

Tortoise.

Checking out the playground.

Sotong SzeHui.

This picture just looks so wrong! Haha!

Now, this is much better!

Me!

There is a mock up of houses back in the 80's?
The fake people inside looks rather eerie that we do not dare to go in.

Goats.

I know you can't really see but those are ponies.

Hamish ShiMin.

Shrub in a giraffe shape.

Erm, the car and I.

We ran out of poses....

I kinda like this one.

Poor Joyce, she had to shelter SzeHui, our navigator in the mini umbrella.

That concluded our trip which ended at 6.30pm.
We were all very good friends because from Mandai, we took bus and train down to NEX and met Daphne for dinner.

Dinner at Paradise Inn.
I told Daphne if she is going to bring us to some eating place that we could get in the west, she's going to be so dead. Ha...

Dishes we ordered, salted veggie with duck soup, salted egg prawns, sweet and sour pork, tofu, spinach with egg and a fried rice.
The food was pretty awesome.

An individual pot of tea.
I think it's really silly because the cup is so small that it could not even fill a mouthful of tea. Then you've to pour like 20 times in order to like drink for half a normal cup of tea. =.=
Just be more practical can?

Daphne's idea.
After dinner we accompanied ShiMin to checkout some clothes.

The girls standing outside the open-concept shop while...

ShiMin checking out the clothes inside.
Decided to call it a day after the unfruitful shopping trip for ShiMin.
It was such a long way home.
As much as the hype about NEX, it's just too far away from home.
I had a great deal of fun that day.
Thank you girls for making it happen! =)
